Have you played with coriolis? Are there any ships you can scrap to make it happen?

When I bought my Python I traded in my T6, T-7, and FDS. Not only did I get more functionality, I wound up ahead Cr-wise, or at least not too far behind where I was.

Just buy a basic FDL and upgrade it as you go. No need to have top grade gear from the start. You might go crazt without an A FSD though.

Really OP, you need to set your sights a little lower for now. Fit your Cobra out for some high earning long distance smuggling/Trading, then you cann have your Python/FDL etc

From what OP is saying about his financial situation...he simply isn't ready to have FDL, not even in basic loadout. 6M in bank, Cobra, Viper and Freagle for FDL? Forget about it for now. That's Vulture or Courier budget right there. I'm afraid you need to work on your bank account a little bit more Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to warn you about mistake people make often - buying ship you can't afford to have.

That still isn't going to get you enough money, b a long way. You're looking at needing close to 200 million for a well-equipped FDL and sufficient rebuys.

Just buy a basic FDL and upgrade it as you go.

This is not terribly good advice. The larger ship you fly, the larger the ships sent against you. It is much, much better to fly a smaller well equipped ship than a barebones larger one. Plus, the insurance costs are a lot lower. And the FDL is not a great ship without considerable upgrading.

I wouldn't recommend rushing to get one, either; work your way up in a manner which matches your growing skill level and familiarity.

Once you have enough to equip it well, I'd recommend looking at the Vulture: A dedicated combat ship that's a good stepping stone between the sub-million ships and the tour de force which is the FDL.

Try a diamond back scout. Cheaper to run for the time being and is rather good for pew pew. Cobra would make sothis/CEOs loop pretty profitable.
