Looking to make my own personal highway to Jaques. Tips?

Specifically, I'm looking for waypoints to mark down, pinpointing planets with core synth materials. Basic Jumponium, SRV maintenance, etc.

Is there any technique to finding good planets? Star class, distance, etc.?

Cheers guys, any & all help greatly appreciated.

In my experience it's all a bit of luck as to what each system has to offer.

In saying that, the usual ABFGKM star systems will generally get you the best shots at finding mat stuff.

Iv not found a technique other than jumping into a system, looking at the system map then checking out landables with a DSS scan then checking out what % materials are available from the map again.

Finding a Highway to Jaques with specific core synth materials would be a very time consuming exercise, given that it's quite easy to plot a decent route out there without the need for synth mats AND the stuff is available in the region once you get there.

Added: I have my own 22 Waypoint route bookmarked that I have used on many occasions going to Jaques & back to the bubble, though I prefer to use the time to complete the journey rather than looking for mats.

Almost all landable planets have basic materials for AFMU rearm, SRV repair/refuel/rearm and basic jumponium. The High Metal Content planets will have higher concentrations but there is no guarantee that they will yield more materials (I've found more rare and very rare mats on ice planets than High Metal Content and Metal Rich, probably because I tend to drive very long distances for extended time periods just for fun).

As for finding them, I don't know of any connection between star class and planet types, other than Brown Dwarves usually have ice planets around them. There is no reason to worry about not being able to find those planet, they are very common, most systems have them.

Towards Jaques you will not need any jumponium, the star density is enough to make it even with a 14 Ly range. Using jumponium means plotting one jump at a time instead of 1,000 Ly plotted course.

My recommendation to you is this: start your way by setting intermediate targets, perhaps the new outposts, known nebulae, etc. Equip ADS and DSS and keep looking for High Metal Content landable planets. Scan them with DSS and land to gather the materials you want for a short while. Rinse and repeat on other systems until you are happy with the amount of materials you carry.

Enjoy the journey. :)
