Lore and really simple text/comms updates & Galnet (Drew Wagar)

Please take up the offer made by Drew Wagar to update and add some lore and content articles for Galnet along with some new text for the comms channel.
We've had the cruise liner 1% for enough years now. New Pirate comms text would be good too. This is super simple stuff to change but would keep things entertaining and fresh. Articles by the Imperial Herald and Federal Times - again really easy to add.

Even just add in some articles / stories written by the players would add a little more 'soul' to the game. We want the game to be great.

+1, some small, simple and inexpensive stuff like this would be great in a "live service" game.

I don't use "simple" lightly in general about coding computer games, but in this case it seems appropriate.

Definitely. Personally I'm a bit of a Wagar fan, so would love to see/hear more of his lore in game. Makes the game feel more "alive" having lore, codex articles and Galnet.

Absolutely, as they say, "it's the little things". It would add so much to the game to not have to read the same. dang. dialogue. all day long

To be honest, there's not much left of the original lore imho.
As I see it there could've been done so much more in-game with the original lore and Drew's stories, and don't forget the other great writers either.
I doubt that many of the newer devs and/or community managers even have any knowledge of the backstory of Elite.

Its not even that. Each commander has a giant database of past actions, achievements etc that NPCs can and should react to.

If you have gone to place X, certain POI explorers might go "I've always wanted to go there"

If you are a maniac cop killer, you might get respect from pirates.

These are just basic ones, but you could pop any amount of hooks into basic responses, missions, engineers etc. to make off the cuff one liners much more personal from our in game work.
