Lore - Comprehensive explanation of clones/cloning?

Emperors personal bodyguards (Subset of IISS which is parent over the IIS) have the most information and the new GCZ rapid cloning/deployment is afaik currently explained with the StarTrek answer of "It works very well thankyou". Generally Its not that common but we have little/no lore regarding the new Cloning regulations/functions in regards to the Odyssey content.

Can't find anything obvious in Canonn's POI database but that doesn't mean there isn't something obscure out there.
So ... the technology exists, it seems fairly routine and uncontroversial for animals [1], it's probably not widely used for humans or at least not in ways which make interesting stories.

Thanks. I guess until the lore for cloning becomes more comprehensive, I will sort of just roll with the mystery of cloning. I am going to use it for character backstory, but the mystery of cloning makes it somewhat easier to just start writing. I will rewrite it later if it all becomes clearer.
