[Lore] Faction Colours

Is there anything in Lore to associate colours with the different major factions?

Personally I picture Federation as green, Empire as black/grey (possibly red) and Alliance as blue.

In the Galaxy Map the filter options are Federation as red, Empire as blue and Alliance as green, is this representative?

Greetings CMDR SteveLaw.

You appear to have used a dark gray font colour for your post and this makes it difficult to read for those using the black background theme of this forum.

Regarding Faction Colors.. This hasn't really been implemented into Elite Dangerous as yet, so aside from the colors used in the Galaxy Map representing the various factions, it's been pretty much left open throughout the game itself. It would be great to have ships from the various factions have specific colours/decals for example that are specific *only* to that faction. This would certainly be one positive step FD could take towards reinforcing a standard color scheme. We could go one step further and have the three factions use bulletin boards and screens such as Commodities/outfitting etc also use the same colour scheme of the controlling faction just to give it that personal touch. Perhaps one day this might happen, but likely it wont.

Jokingly, based on the clipper (and now the courier) I've always said that the imperial colour is a resplendent white.

While I admit to preferring the traditional dark text on light background theme, I can assure you that no colour was deliberately applied to my post, however, I have removed all formatting, hopefully that will fix it. My apologies.

Ship colouring [appropriate skins] was specifically the area I was personally thinking about at this stage. Interesting though that such an idea hasn't been pinned down in all this time. yes, more faction-based variety in UI and station decor would add more to the atmosphere. Thank you for the input and information.
