Newcomer / Intro Losing consciousness = losing data?

Noob question:

I have lost consciousness due to extreme temperature on one of the planets I was exploring and was later reinstated to my ship. I lost my SRV in the process, although I do not understand how the SRV can get lost, when nothing happened to it, I was on foot at that time...

My question is: did I lost also the exploration data in the process? It would make zero sense, as the data is stored on the ship's computer and nothing happened to the ship itself, but since I lost the SRV, I think logic is not involved here...

Thanks to anyone who knows the answer...

No, you shouldn't lose exploration data.
They are lost only when the ship itself is destroyed and you are returned to the last/closest station.

If you did lose exploration data, it's worth filing a support ticket.
