I just lost 7 million credits by gently nudging a commander in a T6 with my T9 going into Bester Terminal. The weird thing is I ain't even mad. It was just too funny. As I was approaching the letter box I noticed that a commander in a T6 had a sudden change of heart and decided he needed to back up right as I was coming in. I must have been doing 20-30mps max and he was backing up so the combined speed could not have been greater than 40-60mps. Now I am running 5B shields although I did only have 2 pips into systems. Not sure how much 4 would have counted in this situation. So anyway, I see this commander trying to back up, he obviously forgot to request docking permission, I can't get out of his way as you can imagine, so I decide to just 'boop' him. 3 seconds later we're both exploding... It was hysterical, even more so as it was completely unexpected. I will make the credits back in an hour or so, just hope the other commander had insurance. Just goes to show, you can never be too careful.

Been trading out of Gliese 868 in a Type-9, it's crazy down here, commanders everywhere. The Anaconda guy's are the worst, it seems like a lot of cmdr's boost into stations.. insane! I stuck A5 shields and keep 4 pips to shields, rather lose the 16T of cargo while I'm here.

The T9 is a money making machine. And now that I know the limits of my B5 shields I will err on the side of caution not to boop commanders in anything larger than a cobra in the future.

Ouch I got a lot to learn.
I just got mad because I crashed my cobra in a dogfight against another cobra with 0% hull. Got a lot to learn here also

Armor, up the armor. I have found in many collisions that the shields do not like to hold up to low speed nudges. But good armor will reduce the damage you hull takes. May be a good buy if you have only the base armor.
On a Type-9? you try and do everything possible to reduce weight on these beasts.
Careful though. They always have been fragile.

My impact was nowhere near as bad as that. It was literally a boop. The ships should have bounced off each other. Instead they lit up like 4 July. Managed to make back most of it, bar a few million since I posted this thread. Has to be the single most memorable death I've had in this game so far.
I hope they throw us bounty hunters and combat types a bone... losing 7 million creds gained through those two jobs is not a small amount of time lost.
Im pretty tired of flying Cobras/Eagles/Vipers when really the only factor effecting credit gain is the number and size of guns you have... but then if for some reason you are damaged a little bit in a huge ship you now lost 30k+ in bounties.

If you are in a big ship you bounty hunt for the fun of it. Through trading I make enough in a hour to nicely kit out a Cobra or fully kit out a Viper.
The T7 commander may also have downgraded/reduced his shield generator

Once I get to my Python (which will be pretty soon…) I may be throwing some punishment against commanders with such manners as long as I see them...
