lost all my money... gave up bounty hunting to trade and im punished.

Well i have to vent for just a second, because it seems like whenever i have some free time to play this game, i get crapped on. EVERYTIME!!! i have never made over 150k credits. I tried bounty hunting, and while being good at it, it just didnt have the return profit vs effort. Same for mining, i could mine for 2 or 3 hours and make 40k credits, MAYBE. So i sold my eagle (the one i used for bounty hunting) and bought a hauler. I hollowed it out to fit room for 20 cargo slots and upgraded my FSD. I jumped the 150LY to SOL and began thinking of a good trade route. I flew towards Daedelus and once i requested docking a message said my presence was not welcome. enemy. i found out i was hostile to the federation because i blew up a few criminals (bounties). But did i get rejected or denied access to land? NOPE. i landed without issue, picked up some super conductors and exited with no issue. i Jump 3 systems away and got lucky with a great profitable trade route! I ran back and forth 3 times making a lot of money (almost 100k), and once i was going to start my 4th? i exited Daedelus with a full cargo (now penniless) and my screen turns red, lasers everywhere! within seconds im gone. WHAT??!?! When i respawn, im back at Daedelus and guess what? all i have to my name is 1000c. GAAAHHH!!! I WANT TO QUIT!!! I have probably logged atleast 25 hours in game, which is a lot for me, im married, i work full time, and i am a part time student. I just want to get a good foot hold but i keep having the worst luck!

Keep at it bud. I have put all the eggs in one basket and got away with it.
Clear that bounty and get trading again.
It won't take you long before you are stashing the cash

But i cant clear the "hostile" status that the problem. And i dont have a bounty. maybe i just have to stay away from the federation for good, which makes no sense. I thought trading with them would have dropped the status. why would they blow me out of the sky just for being hostile, not wanted?

Best choice for you is probably a manual wipe, start over with the knowledge you now have, and try bounty hunting again now that it has been buffed. Don't give up.

Go back to hunting it actually pays now. Though it was fun scraping by for insurance and W&T there for a day or to, never getting above 20k lol. Now I have guns!

If that's all it took then it's a bug... unless of course you shot them right next to the station. Kinda doubt that though.
Are you sure you didn't pick up something from the "side of the road" or maybe something those criminals dropped, because that's how it usually goes.

And don't spend all your credits on one lot of cargo... Spend half and ok you might have to do an extra run to make the money but you will have enough cash to pick up where you left off when somebody decides to blow you up

Always remember to leave enough for a few insurance claims. Your best option is to stay away from Federation space and trade elsewhere until you have enough funds to pay off your bounties from the Federation via the contacts screen in any station.

As soon as i got my hauler I equiqed it for mining and went searching. I eventually found a Prisitne Mettalic ring and went to work. Made a lot of cash by minnig platium gold and palladium until i had a cobra and then went trading. Now I have a type 6 and loving it. Mine away young commander

Yep, Mike, seems like this version of Elite can be just as harsh as the original. I got so frustrated when I first started playing it back then that I wondered what the designers were thinking. Nearly threw the disk in the trash!!! but I was stubborn as h*ll and decided I would not be beaten. So I went back at it and eventually learned to not only survive, but prosper.

Spitting in the face of adversity and beating it to a pulp feels good.
