Lost Connection. How many more times!!

How many more times do we have to put up with this crap from frontier due to Unable to connect to the server and Lost Connection! 17 times since 11am its gone down.
Maybe instead of bringing a bugged update frontier should be fixing the servers its an ongoing bloody joke! Ive never known an online game to lose connection this much
Eve online and star citizen not a problem.
Elite dangerous a total pile of

I don't have any problems with the connection, along with the 99% of the population.
If you do, I do feel sorry for you, but that's something that needs to be solved with support staff on per client basis.

Being aggressive won't help anyone.

Come back after Tuesdays patch and try again if you're that frustrated about it. [uhh]

Happens pretty much all the time for me automatically when I join a multi-crew session or when I deploy a fighter in multi-crew. I know it's not my own connection because I had fibre optics installed some time ago and I can't remember getting DC'ed once this month in any other massively-multiplayer game but Elite: Dangerous.

In fact when I get DC'ed in ED, it doesn't hesitate and takes less than a fraction of a second after joining multi-crew or deploying a fighter to lose connection as if it weren't even trying to connect at all. For short, it instantly disconnects me like "oh you're going to join multi crew so i'm going to cut the cord!".

I was getting a lot of disconnects the other night, not tried since.

As for Port Forwarding I did this way back in Alpha, surely the net code has gotten better since then?

99% u say?
weird i just got over 15 disconnection in less then 3 hours session...I must be one of that large 1%

Twenty seven more times. Thank you.
You would think that Frontier would sort the servers out first before bringing a stupid char creator out 1st you cant even walk around apart from seeing your char sitting in a seat.
Maybe Frontier dont care and jyst sit back raking the money in.
This is an on going problem for many and if Frontier are wanting to keep players then sort the servers out first.

There's a workaround... But it's not a good one. :( I'm avoiding the game until I can play it without all the delays and disconnections. Maybe we can hope that the imminent patch will improve things.

Man, there have been 2 fixes put out already since release and more to come Tuesday. There isn't some magic button that they can press that fixes everyone's problems.

Here, have one

I have named my python "CPS Connection Error." Screw 'mersion. No point in pining for a lost cause.

Take heart though, that while problems like connection errors, instancing issues, graphical issues like invisible planets, and other basic functions are being casually ignored, the devs are right on top of the most important stuff, like the new BGS bounty-cash-in garbage designed to screw over independent-aligned players, and unneeded, meaningless micro-tweaks to "balance" weapons to the thirtieth percentile (the devs are busy, you see?)

Everything will be all right. Don't you fret. [Expletive deleted] is on the job.

Yeah you're not alone. I gave up on the multiplayer aspects a long time ago. It's been completely borked since Wings was released.

Sorry to hear it. It sucks.

I had diabolical connection problems after 2.3 dropped (and my internet connection is quite good). I literally tried everything I could think of to solve the problem and nothing worked. Some helpful players on this forum then suggested I try VPN. I did and haven't had a single connection problem since. So I recommend you Google "VPN services" and give a VPN server a try. Its easy to set up, inexpensive and, generally speaking, VPN providers offer a free trial period. Be interested to know how you get on if you give this a go.

The fact that VPN's seem to work, is not a good look for Frontier...

Just a guess, but I suspect VPN works because VPN's networks are also used for peer to peer activities like torrents, so they handle UDP packets better and with less packet loss. Certainly, my packet loss dropped substantially once I started using a VPN even though the ping did not change much. Basically the data gets to FD's server with fewer errors which is important to keep the connection stable. So oddly enough, it's quite a good legit use for VPN :)

It has, provided you enabled port forwarding in Elite (network settings menu), your router and windows firewall

I had horrible connection problems before 2.3. But for some reason it finally works now. I don't have to wait 5 seconds (loading polygon) for every new menu in the stations, they open just instantly now. Also commanders don't pop in and out at random anymore. Before 2.3 I tried everything that was proposed (port forwarding, MTU settings and what not), nothing helped. I have ipv6 with dual stack btw. Took them two years but better late than never, I guess.
