Lost in Space (Or Game Broke?)

So I've not played ED in a couple months because the last time I played I was still stuck in space/lost in space. I had been exploring since August 2015 and have tons of data to turn in. I was on my way back to civilization and suddenly my route planner stopped working. I used to be able to plot a course to 900 or so LY away and now I can only plot to "some" systems around me. I'm either in a corner of space that I'm permanently stuck in or I'm bugged. I'm guessing the former.

Has this happened to anyone else and how did you get out of these space "traps?"

Sounds strange as you should be at least able to backtrack to where you came from? Could you have changed a setting somewhere that would alter the route planner e.g. the slider that you can adjust to manually change the jump range for different cargo masses? Or if you've switched off certain star types in the display would that prevent it from plotting a route?

Filters dont matter for route planning. Do you use verbose logging? That should allow you to trace back your steps. If you really seem to be stuck, drop a ticket. If something is bugged support can move you. Good luck!

It could be one of two things :

You've hit an area where the closest stars going anywhere but where you came from are outside of your jump range.

You've accidently changed your course plot setting to Economical.

If it's the first, you'll have to backtrack to get around that area, it happens, large expanses of the galaxy have stars that sit rather far apart, out around the Rim and between the actual spiral arms especially.

If it's the second, well, just click on Fastest and it's fixed.

Whats is your jump range. You can get yourself to areas when you are low on fuel (lower mass, better range), but after refuel you have more fuel and more mass so then you don´t have range to jump out or back. Also some parts of galaxy is hard to get or impossible to get. Like only couple systems that can get you over the cap between two areas.
