Lost In Space

Flew from IBootis to another star system (sorry, don't remember the name) in my Viper, landed at a station, looked around, nothing interesting, so I took off again, flew to multiple other star systems, until I realised I couldn't reach anywhere else, so I turned around and flew back the way I came. I suddenly became aware that I had less options for jumping.

I eventually returned to my original destination, and IBootis is no longer an option for me to jump to.

Thought I was imagining things until I was fighting a sidewinder that jumped away... scanned it's wake, and it was heading off to iBootis! Just to rub salt in the wound

So yeah, lost in space... and it's the boring part nobody visits. Haven't yet visited a single star system that allows me to upgrade my jump drive

hmmmm, how you could go there, but not back? Or maybe do I missunderstand you...

Don't know if it helps, but burning some fuel, lightens your ship, so you gain jumprange.... maybe that was your problem... you jumped in nearly empty fuel, refueled, and bang, the little distance less because of more fuel.....

do it again , sell your weapons or other heavy stuff.
that should increase your jump range.
if you picked up canisters dump those.
just get lighter , problem solved.

good luck , got stuck before too.
but that was due to the (wre) systems.

It may very well have been the fuel, actually! I did jump with barely any fuel, then sat in the sun for ages filling up.

Wish we could dump fuel. Instead I have to jump randomly...
