Lost my unclaimed merits

Last night I managed to score around 100 merits, I dropped the ship from sc and logged off. At lunch time I look under transactions and they are gone, ship was not destroyed (I am still wanted 400K in a certain system).

Any ideas?

Cycle has switched, and the unclaimed merits do not carry over to the new cycle.

Always sell your merits before 0700 hrs UK time on a Thursday.

I am sure there is some logic behind it, but I cannot fathom why it should be wiped clean.

the logic is that if you could keep them on your ship across cycles, then you could technically earn 10k merits over many weeks without them degrading until you handed them in.

Why not halve them? like claimed merits.
