I was interdicted and was trying to jump away from the enemy and about half way through charging my fsd reset with out any message alerting me to fsd damage or failure

Sounds like Grom missiles.
Or, your opponent could simply have targeted and taken out your FSD.

there is a type of engineered Missile that resets the FSD, its a difficult thing to counter
Point Defence, ECM, or simply move.

They're dumbfire missiles, so they're actually pretty easy to avoid except at point blank.
I don't know if the OP was attacked by an NPC or Player. NPCs will sometimes target modules, but players will usually always target subsystems.

Well it was a mpc and I have never been attack by an npc using those types of weapons. Also I have had my fsd targeted before and it always alerts me to my fsd being damaged or non functioning. And lastly I did have point defence. And to the suggestion of just move I was full speed and boosting zigzagging and going every direction but straight because I know the game well enough and have been playing long enough to know strait lines are a bad idea..
