Lost Ship

I'm fairly new to the game and now have an issue that Google has not been able to solve. I hope someone can help!
I landed on a station and tried to sell my cargo, but it wouldn't work. When I select sell, the window closes but my cargo is still there. I tried several times without success. I disembarked at the station and my game stopped responding and crashed.
When I got into the game again, I was on foot in the Station, but my ship is not there. The Inter Astra shows just the Star System (where I currently am) and no station for my ship. If I want to transfer, it costs some credits, 5 minutes, and losing millions worth of cargo.
I tried catching a shuttle to the nearest planet to recall but it shows my ship out of range.

How do I get back to my ship without having to transfer it and lose my cargo?

I got tired of trying to figure out what to do and requested a transfer from Inter Astra and lost the cargo...

Is the recovery in the main menu? In case it happens again so I don't lose cargo again!

It's not in the in-game menu, it's on the launcher itself (if I remember rightly).

Just checked, the option is on the main menu (where you see your ship parked), under "Help and Info".

To get to it from within the game you have to take the "Exit to Main Menu" option first then "Help and Info". It isn't available via the ESC menu.
