Lots of 'Trolling' lately.

Last couple of days. More today. Just an observation. No names.

At least play the game before posting a critique about what you think you might not like. Ignorance isnt pretty. Just saying...

It's all part of the meta and to be expected.

Just enjoy it for what it is, and laugh at those giving expert opinion who haven't even played :)

its to be expected, the alpha backers saw it when the premium beta group arrived and the premium beta group saw it when the standard beta group arrived, and you will see it again when the Gamma groups arrive. just bite your tongue when you see posts regarding how bad elite dangerous is because you will see many more after release,

Yeah? I actually enjoy them.

The funniest one today has to be the one complaining the game was 1p to cheap. :)

I think its been longer than the last few days though, I would say its got increasingly abundant ever since the regular beta launched.

Before then it was optimism central this place. It was sickeningly positive.

#1 reason why I would never and never have taken up gaming as a profession, too many <pineapples>.

That's darn good advice. I'll try! ;)

I've been in a few indev games. This is SOP as far as I can tell. It's like there should just be assignments available on registry for your role in the community. Some stuff is practically textbook to me at this point, so much of it plays out exactly the same, right down to the weird freakout spells of the playerbase. I remember a 17-page crapstorm in Minecraft when... pumpkins came in. >___>

Me, I'm the Semidecent Smartmouth Trollbaiting Occasionally-passionate Oldgamer. I can't help feeding them sometimes, the little weak ones need to eat. ;____;

yea, talking from a position of zero knowledge, i saw a post yesterday that said 'if and when they introduce docking computers'

Absolutely.
Wait...

Does this mean I have more credibility than a troll just because I play?

I'm quoting you on this any time the subject comes up now. :D
Only if I get a share in the profits. 10% minimum.

My tongue is a bit ragged already, but dont tell the Ladies...

Ive been beta testing since M59 in the Amiga. I even have the T-shirt still to prove it.

I guess Im just getting cranky in my 'old' age.

Exactly the sort of thing that MAKES me cranky...

First, if you have one working hand you DONT need a DC. Second, if you dont HAVE one working hand, the DC exists.

Well, if we're going to share a beer at the 'ol vets bar here...

I was a SySop on the old Compuserve Flight Sim forum, running duties on a DEC mainframe text editor (ugh) before there was a Web. All dialup modems. We ran FS fly-ins and talked about things like the Red Baron game, ran tournaments to see who could last the longest in a career. Good times. I still have a leather bomber jacket given to me by Microsoft with a big "Flight Simulator" embroidered on the back. It hasn't actually fit me in years, but my girlfriend likes it. Then AOL got dumped on the 'Net, the Web exploded, and it all went to hell.

No, not really. Those were simple times, and I'm amazed at how powerful our computers are now, and I'm finally flying air combat and space games I could only dream of, back then. The good news is that you're never too old to enjoy these games... up to a point... and I'm not there yet. I'm still betting on "old and crafty beats young and fast" to get by.

You and me both. Geezers FTW.

My first 'real job' was selling C=64s, some Atari 'computers' and the first IBM PCs. Not to mention the Osborne 'portable' suitcase bricks.

The Osborne 1 was the first commercially successful portable microcomputer, released on April 3, 1981 by Osborne Computer Corporation. It weighed 10.7 kg (23.5 lb), cost $1,795 USD, and ran the CP/M 2.2 operating system.

I think I sold 2 of those. Bleh! Who wanted to carry that? Also... $1800 in 1981 dollars is about $4700 now. Yikes!

it's a forum and anyone who registers can post there, sadly ;)

but on a bright note: we choose where to respond and where to ignore, and it's human nature not to see the obvious - but in this forum even obvious is hidden very deeply...so while there is no magical "help" link to design discussion archive even commanders that do spend some time for research and playing the game will have so trouble finding the right info ;)

Guilty as charged...Sorry, I got bored. :D

Will go back to Lurking now! :p

On a Positive note. Ive been in a Lot of beta's and There is a fair amount if intelligent conversation On this form. Cant wait for the next Patch specially if it has mining in it!

In that case, thanks for responding to this thread, :)

also you forget the main human nature - laziness, there can be tonnes of information but many will not bother, they don't see or understand something and boom, you get millions of weird forum posts, basically they are using us (who respond to their threads) like a slaves ;p
