Love to hear your O.O moments!

Whilst exploring I went far away from a star to surface scan a huge gas giant. Scanner startet his job at 900ls and I wanted to continue to the next object, passing the gas giant but not even closely.
Alarm went off and I was thrown out of supercruise ... whaaaaaa ??? ... found myself in midst the huge asteroid ring around that gas giant. The very big ring system was almost invisibly dark against the blackness and so far out from it´s main star.

Similar thing happened to me only the ringed planet I was approaching was orbiting a black hole. The planet was totally unlit and the rings were completely invisible. I didn't know it had a ring system until I collided with it and then checked the system map. Luckily I only lost 2% hull and had 3 AFMU's on board for module repairs. Power plant only lost 1% and canopy was undamaged. I've been more careful since.

I remembered a couple more reading through these.
when I restarted my save to try at the triple elite I took a kill anaconda mission in my free eagle to jump start my career.
it was a long protracted fight it that stock eagle and I was getting it handed to me so I kept my distance to regain shields and line up an attack.
I start to come back in and a distinct purple glows meets my face.
got that one recorded its pretty funny lol.

another one was when I first go rammed by an ally in a conflict zone in my conda before ramming was toned down.
heart immediately went in my throat because I thought I might have a rebuy on my hands.
luckly I didn't and after some cursing it was cool to see the bow sparking and puffing smoke out in supercruise on the way back to the station.

Last night after just getting my new Vulture and gearing it out, I let my brother hop on and take me to an RES so he could try it out (he likes playing too, but doesn't have the means to get it for himself). I was short about 100k from being able to fully cover it if it blew up, so I told him to go easy and be careful. Next thing I know, he's approaching the RES at an angle while going about 10x the speed he needed to be going for safe disengage. I saw the asteroids approach the ship at break-neck speeds, then *BANG* auto-disengage after he took 5% hull damage. Nearly had a heart attack, but all ended well enough.

I was following a type 9 that was accelerating out of the slot while a little harmess cmdr sidewinder tried to squeeze inside. The type 9 dead stopped all of a sudden (I didn't see his shields take a hit) then I spanged off his rear end as I curled away, spun into the sidewinder, crushed him against the side of the dock with my cobra, and spent a few hair raising seconds bouncing off the scenery myself, getting things under control with a cracked canopy on emergency oxygen.
The NPC type 9 just sat there for a bit right in the slot, then all hell broke loose as the station decided to kill it. Fortunately I had pulled off to the edge waiting for mess to clear.
I finally limped out, turned around, came back and dropped in for a big repair bill.
About the time I get back out and heading out, the sidewinder pops back into the area and starts ing in local about me crushing his ship. So I chewed back at him for scratching my paint, I'd just had it waxed!

The first time I dropped into a system with a neutron star primary. I was a little slow throttling back and I was suddenly dropped out of supercruise and watching my temperature climb. I managed to figure out what was happening and get out of there without taking too much damage, but let's just say I'm much more careful jumping into neutron star systems now.

You can thank my Noobness(TM) for this O.O moment. *grabs mic*

So I initially took a mission from the Purple Pirates in some station I can't remember the name of, because I was itching for combat. As a new player I just wanted combat for the first time, I didn't care who for. So I take this mercenary mission to hunt down some traders in a nearby system.

I find one of the traders, throttle down to normal speed, and almost immediately I get some direct messages from the trader saying "please stop! Don't shed innocent blood I have a wife and 17 kids etc. etc." The contract was updated, and now it said I could abandon the mission for a small sum of credits without firing a shot. Not knowing any better, I abandon it and then follow the trader's instructions to go to the Ginzenko Ring station (I can't remember if that's how it's spelled or not).

I dock and complete the contract, finally, and the message I get for it is this: "I don't see why we can't just put a bullet between your eyes, but the boss must want you for something. He'll be in touch very soon."

The words out of my mouth at that point were "well, crap."

I'm not going to survive long in this game, am I? :(
