Ships Loving the Diamondback Explorer.

Was looking for a ship to do modest runs of a few thousand light years, to go out to the crystalline shards, Guardian sites and the 5,000 Ly run to unlock the Prof Etc. Was thinking of an Asp, but looked at the stats and the Diamondback has a great stock jump range. So I got one and I am loving it. With a G5 engineered FSD it has a 56 Ly jump, has enough internals to carry a double bay SRV hanger, a 4A Fuel scoop, Class 3 cargo rack, DSS, AFM and a repair limpet controller. Not generally a fan of the Lakon space brick design style, but the Diamondback is cute. Another big plus it is dirt cheap. It is definitely going to be one of my frequent flyer ships.

It's a fantastic taxi and great for medium range exploration. You could, in theory, do just about any kind of exploration in it, but I prefer the luxury of some of the bigger ships for long range.

But there's a reason it's one of the all time favourites :)

Enjoy!

Agreed for long range stuff will get something bigger, with more options for the build, but for now it is a great little ship.

DBX is a superb little ship, and with the additional modules they gave it last year, it's got just enough space for all the equipment an explorer needs. Enjoy it!

I built a DBX for exactly the same reasons, still use it regularly for nipping round the bubble.

Should have some good free time next weekend so thinking of another small exploration trip, there's still a lot of undiscovered systems not too far from the bubble
