Loving the game so far but it has some really annoying parts that create a love/hate relation.

Have been playing since the holidays started and I have to say that I am hooked however some things really make this game one of those love/hate relation.

- Feds flying in front of you while you are shooting and then you wake up with a 200 CR bounty and 5 eagles on your tail. One way I can see this fixed is either allow bounties to be paid off to the feds if they are under a specific value like 1000 CR, bribe the feds or fix the damn AI to not fly in your trace fire all the time.
- BOOKMARKS - I want to be able to save systems in the galaxy map into a bookmark because I might want to go back there again later.
- Friends List - What is the point of friends list only working in close range, exactly same system and face to face, in such an "infinite" universe. I will never be able to find the people I have added on my list this way. I understand some immersion is wanted but at least make it like 25-50 light years range.
- Formations - I want to be able to fly in a formation with my friends. I want to be able to jump in supercruise and hyperspace as a group. I always see small haulers with escorts coming out of cruise speed and hyperspace at nav beacons. Just allow us to create formations where a player takes control of all ships while in normal space, supercruise and hyperspace. A simple yaw or roll on my side and I have full control of my ships which will break the formation.
- Friends List - Again if I have 100 friends list in my list then we should ALWAYS BE IN THE SAME INSTANCE. Even if my friend has a friend in his list but he is not on mine, we should ALWAYS BE IN THE SAME INSTANCE.
- Better explanation on how to get system permits. It is OK if they are hard but explain people what needs to be done. Finding out I can't go to a lot of high end systems such as SOL, Beta Hydri and Vega was a bit of a turn off.
- Why are all nav points near the damn sun? It is so boring. Why not add them in an asteroid field, near a destroyed station or near planet's rings. Please add some diversity.
- Why is it when I come out of hyperspace is always near the sun. I think I died a few times because the sun was too hot. Allow us to exist in more than one place. I don't want to spend 20 minutes in cruise speed to get to a station after I just did a 20 systems jump. More diversion is needed.
- Would love more stats. Would love to see all the systems where I have been. A nice ship log where it has been since insurance claim would be very nice.

The game has a very solid foundation but things need and can be further improved.

- Shared bounties and co op missions. If I am playing with friends I want everyone to have an equal share to the bounties.
- Trading - We can currently dump cargo in space so another one can get it. Allow us to make CR transfers to the guy. We also need a players trading market at stations.

The game has a very solid foundation but things need and can be further improved.
 
Regarding Nav beacons.

I would like to see 'Nav beacon launchers' available as modules in stations.

Once player groups are implemented, being able to fire a Nav beacon that appeared in your groups colour would help other commanders locate your position quickly.

But they should be visible to all pilots during the brief time they are active, to add a little danger to using them.

This would add a little more purpose to them.


- Hyperspace drops out near a star as you cannot jump to a moving target.

Much of what you are talking about is coming. It isn't the finished product yet. Its going to be in development for years to come.

Some other points are points of discussion:

1) Feds flying in front of you - many discussions on this. I'm of the point of view that this is fine as it is. You are the interloper, not the police. Its your responsibility to not hit them, not the other way around. However, i agree that it should be fine only (unless you do it multiple times) and that fines shouldn't instantly cause lethal hostility. But i did point out on another thread about this topic that its like accidentally punching a policeman in real life and expecting the reaction to be other than a good kicking in return.

2) When you enter hyperspace, set your throttle to zero. Get into this habit. Not doing so is risky. Coming out of warp near suns has been properly explained. The jump locks on the largest mass in the system, hence its always the primary star. Its perfectly safe as long as you remember to set your throttle... although it can get a little scary around binaries that are close together.
 
About the Feds, I totally agree, that’s annoying. I think shooting at a cop shouldn’t be a crime while engaged in a dogfight as long as it’s just “a few hits ”. If more hits, well, let’s say we’re given a bounty on our head we could pay directly to the cop, not a station. All cops turning to red for a missed and unintentional shot is game-breaking.

The bookmarks idea is great, but you can have that with Evernote or whatever software already ;) Embedded one would be great though yeah.

The thing that lacks the most to me is a third-party AI. In such great games like X³, there’re “merchants”. We don’t have that in Elite, and that’s missing to me. A cause, something we’d gather against. I do love Elite Dangerous but it gets boring at some times because there’s no “great challenge” to defeat.
