When I was 15, Elite captured my imagination like no other game. 12 hour gaming sessions, endless notebooks full of trade market info and system event scribblings. Bliss!
Now I'm on holiday for 4 weeks, and will be absolutely thrashing out Elite once more. Fountain of youth!
But this time round, the deep immersion is even more complete thanks to my Oculus DK1 (DK2 on the way!), and the Saitek X52. This experience is like no other.
Of course (yawn!), I've got suggestions! Well... just humbly adding my 2 cents anyway
- On screen keyboard for use with mouse/joystick when I'm searching for a system and using the Rift
- Better way of keeping track of where friends are located. Maybe they should always be on my contacts list??
- An MP3 player in my ship! "Environmental" sounding so I can listen to tunes while cruising the stars, as if they're coming from speakers.... but have the ship computer automatically dampen the volume when something requires my attention
- A way to add notes to a journal/log. Maybe I want to remember something about a system or remind myself to do something. These notes should feature one or two tags, so that I can then index by date or by tag.
- A verbose mode (off by default) which makes my ships computer a little more chatty!
