loving the new patch

Im not going to say this game is perfect, but im also not one of those players that expects anything near perfect.

I dont think the new ships are too expensive (i cant afford the vulture)
I havnt managed t get the external cam working (ctrl alt + space isnt working for me)

I do like pretty much all the new stuff they have put in, i spent an hour or so tonight playing a bit of bounty hunting at a res, first solo, then in a wing, and it was a blast (literally)

I made just over 500,000 Cr in that time. I then went and stopped off at a strong signal source and got ambushed by 3 condas and 3 corbras, my jaw dropped as i saw them come out of FSD and start attacking.

Really great fun

I just wanted to post something positive about the patch, because almost all of the other threads seem to just be complaints about anything and everything from OMG the game isnt finished because my hardware is having troubles running it, to there isnt anything to do, ive been playing this game from launch, now i want my money back type stuff.

Hopefully there are others out there enjoying the game.

My favorite overlooked addition
- Arrival Point in Ls on a location from the nav star when viewing the system map.

Since we don't often see too many positives around these parts....

100% concur .... FD knocked this one out the park ..... cracking patch .... not really found any negatives at all....

Can't wait to get a sesh with some mates and give wings a proper going over.... but i cannot imagine (based on how we played before) that this will be anything short of amazeballs!!

I'm having fun with the new patch as well, especially while hunting a nav points. It's actually a bit more of a challenge now and then!

I think the default ctrl-alt-space has been switched off and now you need to remap it. I will stand corrected if wrong of course.

Smeg

Probably because for some people space is also used as select, and especially in station it would click the menu instead of going into camera mode. Of course switching the keys fixed that, but it's better to just start and let the player pick what they want to use. Would be nice for new players to at least in the beginning prompt if they want to pick a key combo if it's not set, so at least they know it's out there if they want it. Sort of like the checklist thing at first launch.

Haven't jumped in the 1.2 patch yet, but having played the beta, I think it was overall a great improvement in a number of things. The biggest flame fest I've seen so far is about ship prices, and while I'm satisfied at the moment with my little Cobra, I can see some of the points raised. However, it's also interesting that there's a lot of people on the other side, saying that the prices for what you get and repair costs are fine, so it's probably a matter of tweaking some things, not an overall failure. I do think we need more gap ships in the lower range, mainly to give greater variety to what we see flying around.

also loved the way your wing targets show as purple, and on the gal map , you have a big green marker showing where friends are.

Me and my brother had exactly the same problem with the camera and had to re-map it but now it works great. Albeit it is a little 'clunky' but it is a "debug camera" after all. More than sufficient for getting some nice windows/android bg's.

I agree, this patch in general is the best FD have released so far IMO. We spent about an hour last night going into USS's together in a wing and I have to say it was great fun and feels much more like an MMO now. I think the next good addition would be the ability to search/recruit for a wing (similar to SWTOR/WOW does it perhaps?).

Don't get me wrong there is still work to do but I feel we are going in the right direction and for a relatively small company (employees wise at least) I am impressed with FD's abilities to meet there deadlines and cram so much in, in a short time. I am an IT Project Manager (not game dev tho) but I appreciate how hard it is to fend off external factors that can cause delays ....

Totally agree man, ive been in AAA game gdev for 10 years and im amazed at how well FD have done, last November or so , i remember looking at the game and saying to my brother "those guys are totally not releasing this next month, its a year out" but they really delivered, sure there were some bugs and stuff, but things have really moved on, and on what i can guess is a REALLY tight budget.

Just noticed somthign else thats really great, hull repairs for the asp are now very affordable, before this patch i would be looking at a couple of hundred K for a full hull repair, now its under 50k. This means i can go out , get all bashed up and earn some CR in a nav point or somthing , and not spend more than i made on repairs.

I have no issues with wear and tear being high , you only have to fork out for W&T very infrequently.
