Low budget VR Setup, DK2 is it worth it nowdays?

As the the topic title, is it worth it to buy nowdays a dk2, (so cheap nowdays), to play it with ED, a couple of hours a day?
I have i7 2700k and 970gtx, but i see people still have some troubles tweaking the new models, vive and rift cv1, so considering i am an expert user, is it a good idea to buy a dk2?
Has it become more easy to setup it?

And of course.. if i have to go to new one.. which is better? :D

Just made the transition from DK2 to CV1 and the CV1 was a breeze to set-up for me. DK2 worked just fine for me as of a few days ago. You may be interested to read my post on what you're missing out on with a DK2. Short answer: It's mostly ergonomics, sound, and speech. The visuals are just as good on a DK2.

DK2 is still very relevant and it served me very well until I got my Vive and CV1.

Anyone interested in buying my DK2?

As I understand it, the DK2 is no longer supported by Oculus. So it may be cheap, but you might get what you pay for.

If you can afford it, get a new CV1 or Vive.

Not directly supported, but working fine (minus ipd support) both with the Oculus drivers of SteamVR, and I suspect that if Oculus ever changed the drivers so that the DK2 ceased working then SteamVR would still be supporting it (via OPENVR).

I'm looking at likely getting a Vive, but not until much later this year or early next and fully expect my DK2 to work fine until then.

I don't agree with the replies about the DK2. I have the DK2 and loved playing ED with oculus 0.6 drivers and reshade graphics enhancements. But since the official launch of oculus 1.3, I find the visuals godawful that I don't play ED anymore especially with reshade no longer supporting new oculus drivers. The issue for me is disgusting black smearing worst than it ever was, and nebulas or any dust or rays or clouds looks like cheap cartoon (don't know how else to describe it). This has nothing to do with the so called godrays that are observed in the CV1. I can draw a better image of space with a pencil on peice of paper thats how bad it is. THe DK2 however is great visually in other games like warthunder which is now my main game.

Also noteworthy CV1 gets very hot whereas DK2 not so much!

I for one am keeping my DK2 until CV2 comes out!

p.s. I do miss playing ED though!
