Powerplay Low Conflict Zones

Hi is it possible to make merits out of low conflict zones? Someone told me he did but I tried and it didn't work. Does it have to be in your own powers' system? cheers. :)

I can't reasonably make merits in any crime sweep. There's always a swarm of ships, and always at least 3-6 at any given time chasing after you while only ( at best ) 1 ship helping you shoot down your target. I usually get about 5-10 minutes in a sweep before I have to leave because my SCBs are empty. It was a lot easier to "hang out" in a combat zone pre 1.3 ..and even crime sweeps before following patches/hotfixes after 1.3 released. ( And that was with the 1 merit per ship ).

Vastly more efficient to just go Undermining in an enemy territory and interdict ships for 30 merits a piece. Even with the issues with interdictions and hyperspace after 1.4 released...it's still quicker.

Edit: You chould however...get in a full wing, then it would be a lot easier to handle conflict zones, and more efficient. Same can be said for interdictions though.

It depends on what you mean.

There's two types of conflict zone:

- Minor faction civil war: where local minor factions slug it out won't pay you merits for your Power Play. You get combat bonds which you hand in to the nearest friendly station. (These are the high intensity and low intensity ones)

- Powers (Crime Sweeps, Violent Protests, etc) these payout at 10 merits per kill - hand in at a station in a Control System. You can do this in favour of your own Power at their expansion systems, or against other Powers in their expansion systems.
