Engineers Low Emission pwr plant

Hi just getting back in game after a while, I am now starting to outfit my Vette which i finally did the leg work on, got the rank and need a bit of help outfitting. I have a over charged pwr plant installed but i am wondering if it makes more sense to go with a Low em pp as heat seems to be a bit of a issue while firing of overcharged mc and lasers at the same time, would the low em pp sort the heat isses?

What Bob said. Armored is good for combat if you have heat issues as it has both increased heat efficiency and better power output. The power output penalty is so big in low emissions that not many combat outfits can fit it, and if they can they are most likely hull tanks that would benefit from armored more anyhow.

Low emissions is better suited for exploration where the power output needs are small and heat efficiency is the best defense against most common threats out there.

EDIT: Also regardless of powerplant your lasers may give you heat issues. If so, then you need to look into your loadout, their engineering and your pip management as primary fixes.

Additional comment: in the first posting lasers are mentioned. If you carry lasers anyway and run into heat issues, having one or two beam lasers with thermal vent can help a lot.

I have Overcharged (and, in some cases, monstered as well!) PPs on quite a few of my ships and run Efficient + Thermal Vent beams, alongside MC or PAs. No heat issues whatsoever - frequently freeze the cockpit!

Mind you, I only ever use G1 PP engineering.
