Low Persistence not enabling for Oculus DK2

I finally got around to trying my DK2 with the game and can't seem to get it to enable low persistence.

I'm running in extended mode, Rift as primary and am getting a solid 75fps. Any idea why low persistence isn't kicking in?

This happens to me sometimes. To fix it I close the games and restart the ovr service from the oculus config util. Rerun elite and it seems to work ok.

I don't know why this works but going into the Titans of Space demo and toggling low persistence in the options corrects this for me. I have also noticed that when low persistence is not enabled in ED that other demo's and games also lack it.

How do you know it isn't working?

You'll know it when you move around and everything becomes a blurred mess. It's very obvious.

It's fairly obvious when Low Persistence isn't working. The display is much brighter and there's lot of blur.

That did it! Low Persistence enabled for me after loading Titans of Space first. Very odd, but I'm extremely happy to have a workaround until this problem is officially fixed. Hopefully this will no longer be an issue once they fully support Direct Mode.

I suppose you are not really running 75hz

I am definitely running at 75Hz. Doing more searches online has found many people who're having the same issue. As mentioned above, by first running another Oculus demo that allows toggling of Low Persistence seems to act as a workaround for this problem.

I vaguely recall experiencing something similar back when I got my DK2. I suppose it's likely that every DK2 owner actually encountered this problem, but since the Oculus demo is usually the first thing they run, they immediately eliminate the problem without even knowing it?
