Newcomer / Intro Low temp diamonds: core or laser?

I used to mine for low temp diamonds.
Now I am out fir core mining and I found a low temp diamond hotspot.
Are they still found on the surface, or they have been moved to core mining? Or both?

Occasionally they appear as surface deposits or mining laserable (and possibly drillable but I haven't seen that yet). You can definitely get them as motherlodes, I got one in Void Opal hotspot.

They appear in all places, and not just the explodable core asteroids. Note not all explodable ones will have LTD, some will have other minerals. You may even pop a void opal.

Core. It's much more fun, and you get a lot without filling up on garbage
