Newcomer / Intro Low yield in SRV surface mining . . .

Can anybody confirm this? Or is it just my impression?

On a standard area of planet surface there will be occasional outcrops or meteoric lumps fairly widely spaced these yield 3 to 7? pieces of raw material.

In a geological site there will be a good number of Piceous Cobbles, Filaments and the like these yield different types of raw material, these sires are relatively compact and there can be many of them on a planet.

Some planets have biological sites with Crystalline Shards these are very compact and yield large volumes of rare raw materials, the number of features/items in these sites has caused frame rate issues as seen at very busy stations which is why I do them solo.

So the answer to your question is yes, maybe, no depending on which of these areas you are mining.

+1 for geo sites. Look for planets with volcanism and that they are landable. Each fragment you shoot off the holding outcrop will give you three units of raw material. Needle crsytals give the G5 (mostly) material and these can be great for trading in for lower grade stuff you may need.

I usually mine on geological or biological sites on high or rich metal planets. But lately the pickings are about half or a third off what they used to be.

The sites take time to restock, it maybe that someone was there recently, I have certainly had similar issues but they got a lot better when I visited the sites in numerical order rather than random based on how close they were and stopped visiting ones I had already harvested.
