Lowering floors/roofs, walls and buildings up and down.

Hello help me before i go insane, ive seen alot of youtubers lower roof pieces to groundlevel to be able to make their own paths etc. For some reason i can not manage to do that. It wont go on ground level whatever i am trying and its making me insane. There is no "grid height" i can change or anything.
It is exactly the same with peoples blueprints, either they are floating above the ground, or they are sunken down in the ground. How do i move them more free up and down without it skipping like this?

Video of what i mean:

I think you need to come out of the advance move, and move the piece as a building. It should allow you to place it then [happy]

Sorry i dont know if i understand correctly but you mean i move it while im "in" a building? That allows me to move it a little bit more free, but it still does not let me place it on ground level so guests feet wont clip trough it if i place a road under.

Here is a video of me struggeling with placing workshops items too, they fly over the ground or get sunken into the ground too much:

And here is what i want to be able to do, move it up and down as free as Geekism is doing in this video at 10:00 minutes into the video:

OK I can see the issue. You need to use the advance build tool which is ctrl x which allows you to fine tune the movement of one or more pieces.

Isnt the advance build tool exactly what i am using 20 seconds in the first video? (https://youtu.be/LhyhxqcCBxs)
Im not that keen on what "advance building tool" is but i think it is when you precc X and open a small menu so you can move your pieces/buildings up and down with arrows etc? If i am in a building i can not move roofpieces, walls etc up and down when i press X, no "arrow menu" is opening, but it is opening when i am trying the same with for example a tree or scenery objects that does not "stick" to grid.

I had no problems with this when the game came out and i could do what i am now trying to do, but last year i gave up after trying to fix this for a while, and now i want to play again and trying to see what i am doing wrong.
