Lowest Heat State/Signature

What is the lowest known heat % for a ship with most non essential modules off. Thrusters on at zero throttle in space?

DBE i built for exploration a while ago has ~17% in SC or in normal space while actively maneuvering with everything on. How low will it go with everything off? Honestly do not know, it will require some time to test (heat changes are slow at this low levels) and TBH i see no point doing it...

Have shieldless DBS that idles at 14%, firing the FSD maxes the temp at ~35% if i remember correctly (havent played for about a month now :D)

I HAD one like that, think I sold it a while ago, I was desperately trying to ket it under the 10% heat so it ran with ice on the inside of the windows and undetectable. I think it needs to be under 10% to be off the scanners.

IIRC it is <20%, and you are never completely invisible, even if you turn SR on, you are still detectable at very close range, 500m or so.

Playing around with a low power FGS (4A low emissions plant) with 5C Bi-weaves it idles at 21% H jumps in the low 40ies, weapons array is a mix of MC and turreted lasers just a mix of what I had in storage so a fully efficient weapon fit could drop it further

DBX at 7%, literally just life support and sensors online with a 2A powerplant (sensors made next to no difference.)

I was testing longest time in silent running and how a stealth diamondback explorer would fare as a surveillance ship.... Well lets just say the AI has Mk II eyeballs :)
Later in the test I review things like moving around with thrusters on and stuff.

I made a DBE that was around 17% before firing weapons (15% when shield was turned off), everything engineered to be as cold as possible. I used all long range pulse turrets to tag enemies more 5km in conflict zones.

Only problem was that it didn't work at all and enemies still saw me. It was an eye opening experience to see ships turn towards me more then 4km away and ignore everything they were fighting.

I've got around 12% on my DBS and haven't been scanned yet. I might just have been lucky, but dealt with several missions to high security stations in high populated areas. I think I could get it down to 10% if I had the patience... or ran without a shield. Pumping a Heat Sink and going Silent Running keeps it freezingly cool for ages...

Was that before or after you shot them? My experience with long range weapons is that they leave you alone until you are the prime threat on damage. While they obviously still shouldn’t see you if far enough away, I would follow the weapons fire until within range if me so don’t mind the npc doing the same.

For me if I back off and stop shooting they often revert to one of the NPCs if still being attacked by them.

Highly Engineered Orca with everything turned on cruises around at a balmy 24%. Why would I want to switch everything off?

Depends, for instance, if you deploy a heat-sink while in SC your heat will drop to 0% and remain really low for a significant amount if time. IMO the "coolest running ship" is generally the DBX.

Yeah, the NPCs ignore the heat mechanic as has been stated by FDev some time ago shortly after the game launched. So it's never worked for PvE - but I really wish they'd fix it. It would be nice to have stealth builds that actually work.

Can I get your build ?

So does power plant also produce heat? So I should try to go for a lower size one?
