LowSec vs HighSec

If low security systems pay more in trading because of pirates... Do low sec systems pay more in bounties too?

Is this a thing now? We've been asking for this for differential risk/reward low and high sec systems for ages.

According Dav's live stream yesteday, security level does indeed influence trading yields.

I'm not able to confirm this, though, as I didn't focus on trading for some month now.

Edit: too slow ...

My guess would have been that High Security would be offering higher bounties, as part of keeping their system policed.

Not sure if such is the case, but it's possible to imagine a few reasons why it might go either way.

If you mean Eve Online then, yes LowSec,HiSec, NullSec are most common terms but that does not necessarily mean that those terms are only used in that game. Those terms pretty much says what they mean in general.

Sorry, it was a tongue in cheek reply, didn't expect any response, except a slight smile.

Lo Sec V High Sec? Isn't that a different space game from Iceland?

And it's something that's done right.

High Sec: Low risk, but lower reward. Easier to do farming for rep. Police shoot freely
Low Sec: Solo and small gang piracy, smuggling, better trade margins. NPC farming with better yields. Stations shoot, and some independent police.
Null Sec: NPC farming & mining for best yields. Space up for grabs, but sadly not in this game.

Am too lazy to check the patch notes again, where did you see it mentioned?

It's from 2.1:
- Each star system's current security levels now significantly affects buy & sell prices for legal and illegal commodities
- Significantly increased the effects of faction state on commodity markets availability and prices

Nothing to be cheeky about, it's a perfectly good system used by EVE (we can name it). And in a broader sense it's a system used by a whole lot of (video or other) games as EVE's hi-lo-null sec is just a specific case of balancing increased risk/difficulty with higher reward.

As for the OP's question, no idea really. Different government types issue different bounties when a player commits a crime, and government type has an impact on security level, but I don't know if the bounty NPCs spawn with is affected by either.
If anything I'd expect low sec systems to offer lower bounties in general, whether as a cause or a consequence of the lower security (outside of lockdown).
