There was no mistaking the man that entered the bar on Lave Station as he was notorious in this sector. The news had passed quickly throughout the station in hushed tones that the black cutter known as the Hell's Fury had docked for repairs. The man strode to the bar as conversations silenced and even the most grizzled spacer appeared visibly shaken. There were few men in the galaxy that could walk into this place and be so infamous and feared and this was one of them, the man was Lucifer Hate. The bartender with a trembling hand poured the drink from a special bottle without having to ask, he knew there was only one thing Lucifer drank and that was 100 year old Lavian Brandy. Silently he took the drink walking toward a back booth and the bartender said not a word to anger the pirate as to how he would be paying for it. He knew first hand what could happen to those that got on the dark side of this deadly man would fare. The last time Lucifer was here rang fresh in the bartenders mind, a young spacer with liquid courage and little sense, angered the pirate calling him scum. The inebriated young man then tried to draw his laser pistol perhaps to become famous, but did not clear his holster before Lucifer strode the steps between them and dagger in hand sliced the throat of the young man insuring this would be his last mistake. Lucifer walked to the back of the bar and took a seat at the dark booth after the 2 traders talking there made themselves scarce, and sipped the brandy after a long productive outing.
A woman who worked at the bar that knew she had nothing to fear from this man other than perhaps a morning of exhaustion after a night of pleasure sat down across from Lucifer having heard he was in port. Lucifer sipped his drink motioning to the bartender who brought another brandy for him and a wine for the woman then quickly turned to leave, she slipped him a note pulled from the low cut bodice of her top she wore that left little doubt why mens eyes had turned to her. Yet she had eyes for the only man she had known intimately in her young life and that was the pirate of her heart. Lucifer read the note as she studied the man before her as that familiar feeling stirred in her as she almost trembled with the desire to feel his touch once again. Every time she saw him it felt like the first time as she looked at him. She was always amazed at the reputation he achieved at what appeared to be a man of his younger years. Many traders had spoke of what they had lost travelling where the black cutter prowled the cold void of deep space. She knew the stories to be true but she did not care for this was the man that she would choose to wait for an eternity for if need be. His jet black hair pulled into a ponytail, the young smooth features of his face the black goatee neatly trimmed. Not even the scar or surgically implanted false eye turned her gaze from him. She was one of only a few still alive that knew how he had gotten it, for she had asked him once. He had served on the ship of a pirate lord as in his early years and one day heard a member of the crew threaten the Captain at dagger point that he was taking over. The Capt had been like a father to Lucifer and even though he was just in his teens he charged the man. when the fight was over the mutineer lay dead on the deck of the ship and Lucifers face had a deep wound and his eye was beyond repair. As her eyes lowered she could see the dagger that he was never without that she had seen used on his last time here, remember the rage that rose in her at the boy that dared to insult Lucifer. She thought if Lucifer hadn't killed him she might have. It had symbols on the hilt that she knew were Orrere in origin but knew not their meaning, but the one symbol she knew was the skull and swords on it that signified this was a man of The Code. Lucifer placed the note in a pocket and from a pouch on his belt took out a single stone sliding it to her paying her for the sure to be profitable info he had just been given. She looked at it knowing instanly what it was, she had seen them in the station before. it was a diamond, but of the variety she had seen in miner ships as they were offloaded. Lucifer had paid her well for the info and rose to leave, she asked "will I see you later" and Lucifer spoke to her low saying "count on it Aurora" as he left the bar.
