Lucky commander at Landing Pad

Was just about to land at an outpost when another commander, I can only assume thought he had landing rights, jumps in. So I leave him be and watch as he attempts to land. The landing pad spins around as it does and fair play the commander is almost bang on central, however obviously he doesn't get landed. a little move to the left, right, back, forward, up down quickly takes place. Now I can only imagine he/she's not paying attention to anything on the screen as to the violations or the fact there'd be no docking radar beeping away.

I grab by morning cuppa and wait for the outpost to start lighting up the misguided Python.

The CMDR leaves the pad a couple of times and tries again - I grab a digestive and dunk in my brew - the outpost surely has to start opening up.

Sadly from an entertainment point of view the CMDR eventually pulls back and broadcasts a message "Bugged" and then saves and exits.

I'll keep an eye out for the said commander and maybe we'll get the finale we're all anticipating.

How can you get up a Python without being able to recognise the landing violation message?

Must've bought his account on ebay :D

maybe it was somebody joyriding someone else's python! would have been funny if they'd blown up, you can just imagine the conversation

joyrider: "you know that spaceship thingy you like playing with"

commander: "yes!"

joyrider: "the big one"

commander: "yes! my python! what about it"

joyrider: "well, i don't think you have it anymore! oh! and what exactly does that clear save thing do?"

yeah, "the boss isn't going to be happy about this"

lol

They're going to need to add in a "Commander Dumbass, your ship is pointing the wrong way" landing message before ED makes it only consoles...

Just yesterday I wanted to dock at a station. Requested landing permission, got it, fly to the slot, before entering the slot I check where I have to land and there is no indication that I have docking rights. I make a very, very sharp turn, almost crash into the station wondering what just happened. Request docking permission again and just get the blue "request docking" indicator. Nothing happens. I'm confused and then the game kicks me back to the main menu. Re-log and I'm 105 ls away from the station.
So I think it could have been a bug or lag or something - but at the same time it could have been a CMDR without enough coffee at the end of a way to long playing session. (I think the answer is not enough coffee for the CMDR the thread starter mentioned).

Oh and yes, I have tried to dock on an outpost without landing permission once or twice with a Python. I'm fast at flying backwards with my big ships after entering the slot without landing permissions and I have a name for that maneuver. You know late at night after a few hours of trading between two stations always doing the same thing … Somehow the game has to tell you that it's time for a break - for me it does this with landing violation messages :D
