Is it normal behaviour or perhaps computer-hardware-dependent? If it is considered normal, why is it happening?

It looks to be the camera auto-exposure. It has its critics and doesn't appear to be configurable.

Well, add me to the list. Even though it seems logical, i don't think i like it much. It's confusing...

Yes, such messages are the price you have to pay when you use free image uploading sites like imgur. It was once THE site for image uploading but from that message, you can understand what's happening nowadays (not specifically for imgur, for other sites too)...

Once upon a time, the forum stopped accepting images. Now it does, but it has a size limit. My image was rather large, hence the upload to imgur...
