Lunar Flight - latest build worth checking out!

Thought I'd give this a heads up for those in here who might have this and not know...the latest beta release of Lunar flight is an absolute cracker. It looks fantastic. And I suppose a bit like what Horizons might be like.

There's an option to look at a demo video of each map from I guess a developer piloting...unbelievable skills! It'll test your vr legs for sure.

Hi

how well does it run for you?

I am using sdk6.0 and struggling to get low persistance - either that or my framerate is borked. I still played for 3 hrs, its fab! but its definitley not running well for me. it should not be my machine, i have an i5 2500k @ 4.3ghz, and a GTX980

Yeah I played for about 3 hours last night as well :) However it runs well for me at least 75fps...hmm no idea why you're having problems running it, and Im the last person to ask for technical issues, sorry mate :/

fyi I have i7 @4.5 ghz, 780ti, win 7 if that helps.

With this last update I was finally able to play it. I bought it several months ago and I tried tons of stuffs to make it work without success (screens problem, it didn't want to go in DK2) Then, with the last update now it work perfectly in direct mode (recommended mode by the dev). I7 3770K 4,4 GHz & GTX970. I just tested first map but it was butter smooth. It was the demo flight as I didn't fly the module by myself yet.

Well when you start man, use an xbox controller if you have it, and use just the left stick and the shoulder buttons to navigate. And all you need to keep an eye on is the velocity and vertical speed read outs. Once youre comfortable flying around using just these things then start using the right stick.

I found when I started last night I used both sticks straight away and it was too much information for me to process and I'd invariably end up spinning out of control and going way too fast. By the end of the night I was flying around in control no problem, and it was a joyous experience :)

woot!

  • Rewired Input Manager is implemented but there is no UI yet in VR mode. Stop the Runtime via the Config Utility and run the game in None VR 2D mode to access the new Input Configuration (Saitek HOTAS should work now) Once configure restart the Runtime
  • XBox Controllers and almost any Dual Stick gamepad should work by default.
