Ship Builds & Load Outs Luxury Cabins for new Orca

Been reading conflicting things and was curious if it's worth it to have Luxury class cabins on the Orca? I saw that many people were saying the missions were too rare to find and that they weren't worth it at all, but unsure if this is still the case or if it's worth putting the luxury classes on that ship?

If not, what is a good cabin loadout? Just a few 1st class and the rest business class for a good profit runs?

i actually like the class 6 luxury cabins (8 seats) on mine, as you anyway very rarely have missions with more than 8 first class seats.

if you fly an orca, you can as well fit a class 6 luxury cabin.

whether it is "worth it" to get an orca/dolphin/beluga so you have luxury cabins at all, is a different question.

That's a good idea then if I won't find more than 8 passengers for the First class i might as well upgrade it to the Class 6 luxury then.

I fitted the Orca with nothing but class 6 luxury cabin and fuel scoop and grinded sightseeing missions. Huge fuel scoop was good enough to never have to stop for fuel as it would fully re-fuel just by flying around a star to point at the next jump, and silent running is easy with no extras to consume power. Gotta be confident docking and avoiding interdictions with no shield though. As a pretty casual player this has made me exponentially more money than anything else I had done in the past, until I made enough to outfit a Beluga to take on multiple missions at a time.

The orca only has one size 6 spot, you can easily fit a few cabins and just use a smaller fuel scoop and can't for several cabins and stack passengers. I did a number of them and am currently only about 2500 LY oftom sol to the west. I have a 4a scoop which if I fast travel (scoop as I go around the star) I can got 25-30 jumps without stopping unless I hit a string of unscoopable stars. This frees up several cabins. I've actually started going without shield even and using 4 cabins. The orca is manuvetable and fast enough to evade interdiction and silent run/heat since if you do manager to get pulled out or get a ship scan.

The only reason to use the Orca is for those luxury cabins. Otherwise, you're better off using different ships with better internals and range for that price.

I disagree. If your look purely at stats, perhaps, but you can get a great jump range with plenty of internals. Python can beat it for total internals, but it handles like a brick and is only slightly more stylish, and has a worse jump range. The orca feels amazing, even in super cruise! Mine is right on the edge of 50ly jump range with all the exploration internals I could want.

For passengers, I've equipped it with 4 cabins and take 2500ly passengers "famous explorer" missions. An Asp can have a touch more jump range, but can't equip that many cabins of any useful size.

I also think the orca is one of the best looking ships in the game, and a nice departure from the norm of most of the ships.

As far as I can tell, luxury cabins are useless. I've only ever seen two luxery passengers and they were only paying about 250k more then a first class VIP with the same route.

Name a ship with better internals and better range. (Excluding anaconda as that's three times the price and a bit silly of a ship to begin with.)

Useless they are not. I have 3 main bases, one of each of the three superpowers scattered across the bubble. I am also allied to every faction in said bases. The more factions you are allied to, the more chances of luxury missions appearing. At least in my experience. But what do I know.

That's good to know, I'm allied with the faction I fly for at each base, but only see them so extremely rarely and. One have. Wen worth the extra weight per seat. That said, I'm mostly looking for long range passengers (over 1k lay at least for me) and only seen a single one so far of those. In fact I don't even equip size 6 cabins. I use mostly size 5 with a mix of first and business and 3-4 eco. I also tend to fly out of far out locations too so that's likely a major factor (California nebula is my current zone).

I'll PM you.
