Lynx Bulk Carriers

I hope these make an appearance in Horizons - or earlier.

6000 glorious tonnes of freighter.
used to see them sometimes sitting outside stations in Frontier / First Encounters
would make me very happy to see the odd one loading up (via tugs - haulers?) next to an extraction outpost, with a couple of escorts pootling about guarding it from unscrupulous pirates...

and if one is near a station, you can help it with filled/dropping the cargo by just accepting a mission?? would be a nice add on!

I could see that ship making an appearance after we get first person movement and multi-crew ships. A little alteration to make the storage pods fit through the letterbox and then you have a multi-trader ship that flies to a station, parks outside, and the smaller storage areas separate and fly in to do business. Or fly it yourself and spend 2 days trading at one station, I don't care. If you want to fly around with 60 million in cargo.... :p :D

I miss the big economy ships, too.
The game needs to have immersive means of factions providing a big haul of supplies to remote locations,
or to distribute bulkware to the masses.

Looking forward to bigger NPC trader vessels, or even some larger patrolcraft.

I'm all for super-heavy freighters and capital ships, but goddamn that thing is one ugly mother.
I suppose it could work if you made the mid section thicker and turned the vanilla pops into some kind of hex-based storage tanks.

i think it's BEAUTIFUL

That design actually made me lol! I hope FD don't implement these because I would crash every time I see one because of laughing so hard!! :D
It's funny you should say that, as the other huge ship you couldn't fly, the Long Range Cruiser http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Long_Range_Cruiser was often parked right outside the station entrance and you had to be paying attention not to crash into it.

Using Buffet, I once flew one of these down to the planet surface and landed it at London ... it's so huge, it covers half of London.

I like it (well I don't like that one), but I like the idea.

It could have a "detatchable" Lakon 9 to ferry goods too and from stations...
