Install it and try.

Since your game save will carry over it will at least save you having to re-boot to change OS when you want to play.

I bought the Mac for my daughter as she wants to be an architect lol

Also it's set up in the kitchen next to my son's gaming rig.

I reckon that her indoors would freak if I put a 3rd computer in there lmao

I have 2012 iMac and for me i feel it looks and feels better on PC ... not massively but perceptibly
Also until its fixed you have limited button mapping on mouse

I'm waiting for more updates to OSX client before i retry - sticking with bootcamp for now

So I have a 27" mac from Dec 2014. I have it boot camped and have been playing elite dangerous on win 7. Resolution is way under optimal but still looks very nice.

My question is will I get better performance out of it on osx?

Thanks Cmdr's

I have the same Mac as the spec you gave (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2GB) and have been playing via bootcamp for a year now.
In my opinion, the DirectX version of ED is superior to the OpenGL version in OS X. The frame rates and image quality are much better in bootcamp.

I won't be playing ED in OS X until the Mac version improves substantially.

These kinds of topics are funny to me. This is because they both use the same hardware now and days. One company decided to jack the price up on its product. They should call Macs a PC running Unix on PC hardware with an Apple logo. It is just funny to me but people can say things about me because I'm a Linux guy.

You'll get a very similar performance out of the game in OS X. Let the nitpickers worry about the fine details. One thing that's definitely good about it is that you don't have to switch between systems to play the game.

It isn't like that, there is some great engineering done on those machines, if you can appreciate it. The hardware is custom. Take a look at a teardown.
