[Mac] timeline update?

So now that we have the PC version released and I know the ED team are working hard on those early patches, may I ask is the plan to start work on the Mac version in the new year, with a possible launch date 3-months later, or will the focus be purely on the PC version for the first 3-months then start the Mac version? Just be good to get a timeline update for the Mac version including beta testing stages etc.

Many thanks
J

Seconded !

Count me in. Checked the compatible OSs before buying the game and I'd love to play on my iMac without bootcamp heresy. :D

Just a +1 from me. I'm now playing on a laptop with an X55 hotas, sat next to my iMac which will never ever have BootCamp initialised. ;-)

I'm looking to purchase a ch pro throttle and thrustmaster 16000 joystick, just want to make sure they're going to be fully compatible with the Native Mac client before I purchase them.

If I get the PC version and use boot camp can I convert to the mac version without having to buy again
If you have a bootcamped ED running there would be no reason to change to an OSX version when it arrives as it will run slower anyway. The OSX version of ED will purely be for those unable to or for some reason refuse to install bootcamp and windows.

1st reason E:D is the only piece of software I use in boot camp I don't use anything else. I would rather have a native Mac version so I don't have to keep restarting my computer into windows to run one single program, I will completely delete my boot camp partition and windows from my computer.

2nd reason I have a fusion drive which has 128 gb ssd for my most frequently used programs. E:D would come under this group which would greatly speed up an already blistering fast beautiful game, boot camp doesn't utilise the ssd in fusion drives in fact completely ignores it.

3rd reason windows (I have windows 7 I don't want to pay or download 8.1) is terrible at screen scaling and I can make it look a lot better in Mac os.

Currently i have ye goode ole Saitek Cyborg 3D USB running with Kerbal Space Program on my iMac under OSX 10.10.1. It is fully supported and would still be a good choice for playing E : D.

On the other hand, the Saitek Rhino 55 HOTAS seems to be a good choice in my opinion. It consists of two different pieces, each with its own USB connection with no fancy monitors and three way toggle switches (the switches are actually simple push buttons, that snap back into starting position after clicking them), a full compatibility with the Mac OS input manager seems not not to be a big concern. The fact, that it is fully compatible to xPlane 9 and 10 on OSX for example, as stated on the Saitek website, points to a full compatibility with the standard input manager. So, even when there will be no control template available for E : D, a manual setup is pretty easily done in no time.

Waiting for the mac version myself, i have already ordered a Rhino 55 yesterday (just could not wait :D), so i can test the compatibility with existing software soon.

I will drop a line here, as soon as it arrives (and will start constructing a nice cockpit setup if it works...)

(The seller said, 4 days until it will leave the stock, so expect further posts around next weekend)

[EDIT] And a little update. As stated on this website, the Rhino 55 is fully compatible to Mac OS 10.8.5 and above.
