Mac

I have a MacBook Pro and I bougth the early bird edition so I will try it out and I will let you know. [noob]

It won't run natively you will need to run it under a virtual box or bootcamp.

If you have boot camp, it should run fine as long as your computer's specs meet the minimum requirements. I say this assuming that the game will work for any computer with windows and the minimum requirements.

I have a macbook pro 13 inch from 2015 (latest build but no dedicated graphics chip just the integrated) so I don't have much hope for it to run on my computer but I am going to test it out and see what it does.

heres to hoping I can play while I am travelling [happy]

just played for about 2 hours tonight. so far the game runs pretty decent on the Iris 6100 chipset. obviously I turned the graphics to low setting and ran at a resolution of 1280 x 800 i think. It looked above average but most of all it ran smoothly. even when zoomed out and rotating the camera I noticed I didnt get too much of a framerate drop (although I suspect once my park is filled with scenery it will be a different story but we will see)

comparatively when I load up cities skylines this runs better than that does (Im guessing thats a unity problem/limitation though, the cobra engine seems to have less overhead when rendering)

Overall I am surprised it ran this well, but it ran like a laptop so dont get too excited

I just started playing on my mac with the magic mouse. As you know, you need the middle mouse button for free camera. Do you know, how to use the middle mouse button, when you don´t have one? (I know, my sentence doesn't makes sense, but I think you understand.) Thank you

I do not. I have a gaming mouse I just bring with me when I want to play. I cannot stand apples peripherals

which mac are you running the game on?

Cheers!

Honestly just buy a PC don't use Macs. Anyways you can do WAY more stuff on PC's then you can on those overpriced macs.

I have an imac, and I use the bootcamp win10 partition for games and my animation software (which is PC-only). Planet Coaster works perfectly for me. For middle mouse button, I use a PC mouse, but if I were on a magic mouse or trackpad, I'd try to reassign the controls to a key+ mouse move if possible.

As for the mac vs. pc debate: don't do that. It's not helpful. There are very good reasons why I use a mac.

If you prefer a mac, that's fine. However, macs are basically designed more for productivity than games and I think that is the reason there are fewer games developed for the mac than windows. And as you stated in your reply, you are using windows boot camp which is a program to use the windows OS. This is used with a lot of games on a mac. If that is the way you want to go all the more power to you. Personally I don't use a mac, but won't belittle the attraction for those that do.

I also use Windows 10 in Bootcamp on my pretty beefy iMac 27" and it works great. Haven't tried it on my MacBook Pro yet but I suspect it will be a little rough since the graphics card is no where near as powerful as the Radeon R9 M395X GPU (4G GDDR5) that's in the iMac. Best part is that Windows 10 is free now if you don't want to customize the look of it more or less. Basically, for the purpose of just running games, you don't need to pay for Windows.
