Macros for sending long messages?

I've seen PvP pirate videos where people send paragraph-long messages to their victims with what seems to be a single keystroke. How do you do this? Can you just copy something out of any text editor and use Ctrl-V or is it a little more sophisticated than that?

I, er, have a friend who wants to know...

yes, you can just CTRL+V text into the comms box,

or some use Voice Attack macros (or any other macro tool) to insert text there.
