Made it to Sol!!

Made it to Sol in my little Sidey.

It was looking impossible as the only routes in showing on the map were via Sirius and Barnard's star.
I was coming in from the Sirius side but don't have a permit for that system.
Sitting in Procyon, closest I can get, and my FSD is telling me that to jump to Sol take more than the 0.6 fuel it can use....

Damm it I've come this far.. so I sold the 2 loaner pulse cannons.

Toothless I can make the jump and reach home...

....jump in and get interdicted, run away!!!!

Hope I live long enough to explore and buy some guns!!

You give me hope! I have been plotting away seeing if the old faithful sidey can indeed make it home. No luck from my starting point as is! :(

Great job Cmdr! :)

I went there today, but Sol isn't quite correct. Jupiter shouldn't have rings for a start :p

Uranus and Neptune shouldnt have rings like that either. In fact there entirely to many planet rings in the galaxy.

All 4 gas giants in our solar system have rings. Jupiters are really faint and difficult to see but they should be there. Most people only know about Saturn having rings because they are the most visible and spectacular by a long way.

Absolutely correct! And it goes to show how little we commonly know of even our neighborhood!

Careful Now.....

Well I am away out on the Rim, so it will be months (maybe years) before I see the the Sol system. I sincerely hope <this> does not happen before I finally reach it :D

Oh, and well done to you Hap for reaching it ;)

Just bear in mind that Earth and Mars are the only custom bodies in the system thus far. All the others are going to be added at some point in the near future.

Exactly. But they are from faint and difficult to see in the game. Yesterday I zoomed past Jupiter at 25x the speed of light and the rings were more clearly visible than the planet itself. As as an amateur astronomer who has seen both Jupiter and Saturn (and its rings) with his own eyes, I can say: that's plain wrong. ;)

I think thats what's called artistic licence ;) They were really bright in the previous games as well.
