Made it to VY Canis Majoris

2015-05-18_00011.jpgNow it's time to haul back home.

I went out to the only other star in the system and it didn't even look any farther away. This thing is HUGE. I'm very curious if there is another undiscovered Red Hypergiant that the game procedurally generated bigger than this one.

Largest Red Supergiant I've found was roughly 80 solar radii. So not in my personal experience, lol. May take years for anyone to find one if it exists.

UY Scuti is supposed to be even bigger, but I don't think it's in the game (can't find it on the galaxy map anyway).

i can't check on the gal map for the moment, but may you can find it using another reference such as "2MASS J18273652-1227589" or "BD-12 5055".

and for Wd 1-26 may be "2MASS J16470540-4550367"

Thank you. I will check it when I get home.
It is very interesting. How did you find these elite system names?

Just different star catalogs.

The Two Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS) was a survey of the whole sky in three infrared wavebands around 2 micrometres (μm): J (1.25 μm), H (1.65 μm), and Ks (2.17 μm).
