I would really love to progress my federation rank, but this mission is still broken. Any plans of a fix?

me too 
ive also spent hours trying to summon him up. got 6 of theses missions maybe hes a gang..
do you know if you abandon the mission you get any or less rep hit than if you let it time out?
was sick of all my other missions being perverted by some guy I couldn't kill for it. so ive just got the 6 maelstroms now
but in USS I just find ships sitting there not doing anything.. and 20 funeral and wedding partys..
they fixed the assinations I think.. ive had a few of those turnup 30-60 mins after starting the search and nailing it down to 1 system.
itd be nice if a dev confirmed that they had tested this in house with there tools and it worked. or not..

Nope.. still no appearance of Maelstrom anywhere just yet - but what's really odd is that no-one has officially confirmed it as a bug, or has acknowledged that it's an issue that they're working on. Just 3 words is all we need from a dev "yes, it's bugged".

Isn't one of the empire rank missions experiencing the exact same issue? The wade lady or something like that, an assassination mission like this where the target literally does not spawn. Probably the empire version of this. It was in a thread earlier today.
Conclusion:
- Rank system not fully implemented
- Rank missions not fully implemented
No statement by FDev means: Not fully implemented, not first priority at the moment (since - to be fair - all new players will not reach that point of career progress in the next few days).
But hey - they simply could say a word or two regarding this issue.
