I just wanted to share a fun little tidbit, about my favorite way of destroying caustic generators, which I found incredibly therapeutic and very safe. You may as well have a fun time of collecting mats, after all.
I used a little hardpoint called "PAs." Yep! That thing many of us use for PVP and PVE. In fact? Mine were still pre-enginered for PVP, with dispersal and target lock breaker and so definitely nothing special, when it comes to AX. I went with 2x C2 Focused PA's (G5), using my tanky little Viper MKIV (3143 hull health) build, reactive armor and armored PP...so definitely nothing about any of this was taking into consideration AX even a little bit. I didn't even bring decontamp limpets and just baked it off the original way (silent run), if needed.
The range of these PA's is about 5KM. A lot of times, as that range out, due, to imperfect convergence of the hardpoints, while aiming at a distant target I only landed one of the two PA shots on the generator and that was enough the instantly blow it up. So I suspect just one C2 PA will do.
The PA Goes... "Psssh!
The PA projectile goes... "plink..."
The caustic generator goes... "BOOM!"
Words cannot describe how oddly satisfying it is. At most? You maybe scoot back a few meters to avoid the rapidly expanding fog...and that's it.
Now, to put this to greater effect? You place yourself between multiple generators, point, "plink...BOOOM!" flip around and point at the next one... "plink....BOOM!" and go and send those collectors on their merry way. You can even assistance off and high speed dash between a a few of them and turn and fire as needed...but you may get sloppy and end up running into an explosion, or the generator itself this way.
