Mages Tale?

Anyone pick up Mages Tale? I'm posting in the VR section as I feel it's more appropriate as my fellow VR CMDRs will be more likely to reside here.

This game just released four Oculus and I have to say if you are looking for a break and grew up in the 80s playing D&D and games like Bards Tale and the first dungeon crawlers this is a must.

Im having so much fun. The movement takes a little getting used to but soon muscle memory takes over.

The feeling of being in a dungeon and fighting goblins and solving puzzles while uncovering a mystery is top notch!

I would, but as I'm on a DK2, I don't have a touch option so have to stick to games with controller support :(

Fab game BUT

It has the gun face HUD icon when you have fireball or ice spells active which is most of the time. The icon is pretty useless too.

Gun face icons give me headaches. They make me feel nauseous too, like part of my vision is dodgy like you get with migraines.

The devs have said they are going to add a toggle.

The game though, is fantastic!

Thought about it, but went for The Climb instead. Now I have aching shoulders and hands from gripping so hard. Awesome game that one, and I don't even have the touch controllers yet...

Its on my radar but with so much fab content for vr that is heavily reduced i will wait till a future sale :)

Currently at over 80 quid on vr content this summer sale

Make sure to practive against the AI for a bit to get the hang of it. You will get smoked in PvP, unfortunately the options available are limited at this point in time. IMO not worth the money, but I used my credit to get it so whatever.

They brought out a patch today giving us free movement locomotion and a couple of other things, havent tried it yet though.

From what little i have played i have really enjoyed it :)

I read this eariler today. Sounds great and has made me consider buying it. My only doubt now is that I read that movement is tied to where you are looking - I really can't abide that. I much prefer decoupled head / body movement.

That said, it's great to hear that the developers reacted to their user base and added a stick base locomotion. Hats off to them and I hope it generates new sales for them (which I'm sure it will).
