Horizons Magical Interdiction Powers!

Must be that NPC's are now using some sort of unknown alien tech. I want this type of interdiction power.
Here is a video of that power. No need for the NPC to be anywhere in the area when performing an interdiction!
A little longer than necessary and includes the ensuing battle. Please Dev's address this. I am having this happen on a regular basis and decided to record it. I don't mind the fight but we should all have to live with the same physics/rules. Hard to evade/keep an adversary off my tail if he acts like this.

Hmm.. hard to argue with the recording. Were you attempting to cycle through targets and never found anything close enough as well?

Kriidah,

Sorry, no I was just keeping an eye on the center display. Should have appeared there but nothing close shows up. I will try the contacts menu next (toggling back and forth for the video). I do note that when the interdiction occurs there is a flashing ship indicator way back in the clump of stuff far behind me.

Picommander,

No worries. I always submit. The real problem is not "where is he" it's that he is nowhere close to me. let alone within indertiction range. Like I said, I like the fight but they should have to operate with the same rules as players. No interdictions from 3k ls range.

Had two other examples but the video decided not to save in either case. Will continue to try to gather evidence of this NPC naughty behavior.

This is not new, has been around for some time. Good job capturing it. I did see the culprit flash red, way back when the action started, definitely out of interdictor range.

This is one of those hard-wired mission-based interdictions from what I've experienced, going to happen no matter what.

Is that Voice Attack you are using? Just curious.

Nice video.

This type of interdiction happens to me also. Seems the aggressor is well out of range for any interdiction.
Once you do the .07 slow down he's on you like magic, then you submit and sit there waiting for his ship to arrive.
During some of these mission I get tired of wasting time submitting, killing, starting again.
When in the mood I will use the .05, .04 slow down and spiral in to the station.

I always thought they go invisible somehow. Is there a way to reduce one's signature in supercruise, expecially when on the tail of the target we don't want to be seen from?

Hello Rrobes,

Love your Avatar, it stands out along with your well spoken posts. Yeah, that is voice attack. I don't really know what I would do without it. I don't use it as much as I could although I am adding commands from time to time. Wonderful product with the voice pack. All for the small price of $10 US. I can concentrate on flying while calling for other things to happen that would normally draw your attention away or take longer to perform going through the motions yourself. Its not flawless but does work really well. Next command set is for the fighters and order issuing. Am giving thought how to set that up.

You have to use the phrase "all that tasty cargo" on a regular basis to qualify for the top secret cloaking/instance distance closing device.

I`ve noticed extreme/impossible interdiction arcs and distances from npcs as well. (mostly post 2.2 iirc)

Remember when a networking error caused npcs to self craft mega weapons in2.1??

I`ve been wondering if a similar issue is causing godlike npc modded fsdi. Both capture arc and range.

Something is definatley wacky.

I've got it figured out! Just click your heels together 3 times and say "all that tasty cargo" and you'll have cloaking and interdiction powers that range as far as the advanced system scanner!

Ra'Kaan I noticed the capture arc just a few minutes ago myself. I think I have that one captured. Will upload later if so.

Still working on more video.

I can hear the bloody programmers giggling about this one.
Most games, when you learn the nuances, the NPCs are to weak. May be that is why they overpower these NPCs.
I'd still like to push them down the stairs though.

Thank you for the reply and the compliment, "tip of the hat".

I went to the Voice Attack and HSC sites. Their add-ons seem to add a nice dimension to play. My current mike is hopeless, but I will resurrect my old wireless mike and hope it works.

See you in the black.

Kriidah,

What is the interdiction range? Yesterday I got pulled back 49 LS by an NPC. He was obviously more than 50 LS away from me.
One other time, months ago, I was pulled back 74 LS.
Yesteday one of the interdicters was hovering at the station I was heading to, and when I submitted to his interdiction I was almost 1 LS back and the NPC was behind me. How bloody stupid can that be.

I happened to record an interdiction from 100 ls or thereabouts.... what would that be, like a class 10A interdictor? At least the 341k bounty was tasty.

EDIT: OK, I may have derped here. I looked at the best FSD Interdictor I could buy -- a 4A -- and I thought it said the range was 16LS but after reading the wiki the range is actually the maximum length of the tether in seconds. So, if he was going 6-7C (since he was further from the planet than me) with a 4A Interdictor it looks like he could yoink me from that far away.

From wiki: Maximum length of an interdiction tether is measured in seconds (between 3 and 16 sec) depends on class and rating of the interdictor, and scales with the speed of your craft. For example, having an interdictor with 10s range and having speed of 10c will result in a 100ls effective interdiction range. Note that all the interdictors have a facing limit of 50 degrees by default.
