[Magnificent Rides Collection] Vector nose car

Let me first say that I think the rides in the Magnificent Rides Collection looks fantastic. Especially the models of the SLV and MindMelted looks very stuning.

However, I think the models of the latest announced "Vector" coaster (obviously based on the Mack hyper/launch coaster) could use some improvement.

Let me make clear that I understand that you want to give a bit of your own twist to the rides (both from your own creativity and legally reasons), but in my opinion, for the Vector train did this not work so well. I can live with the changes in seats and restraints (While I think that more the original shape of the restraint would have looked better than the more round shape of your model), but for the nose car I think your own addaption went in the wrong direction.

As example I take the original shape, here shown in NoLimits2. You can see here that the original has a more pointy shape with the fron thinner than the end, with the front of the nose a more round/point shape instead of flat. While when you look at the model in planet coaster. the nose car have very straight edges with a flat front, result in a very blocky nose car which in my opinion does not work for this coaster. And the shape of the puprle area on the nose (with the total width at the front, and smaller at the back) makes this effect even worse.

In the screen above I've illustrated some cases with a simplistic model. The middle nose represents the current version as shown in the latest PlanetCoaster screenshots with a flat front of the nose and the edges not pointing towards the middle. At the left and right I've changed this to a shape where the edges do direct a bit towards the middle, with the front of the nose having a pointy shape instead of a flat shape. In my opinion this is already a big improvement compared to the current shape in the middle, and of course this could be further improvement my altering the shape with slightly curved edges and other details.

On the left-hand side you see that I kept the original shape of the purple area, where on the right-hand side I've changed this area with the full width at the end of the nose, towards a point at the front of the nose. Of course the changed shape of the middle area would result in changes of the front of all cars, so I can imagine that this alteration is not desired due to the changes which has to be make (but personally I would like this shape more and the current shape in the middle and on the left-hand side. It also has a nice hint to the ride's name with the V of vector ;) )

One last thing I would like to comment on is some details in the track, in this casee the diagonal rods. In real life, the Mack trinagle track's differ from similar tracks of intamin and gerstlauer on the diagonal rods. Where Gerstlauer and Intamin have diagonal rods with a squared crossarea, mack use round diagonal rods with a flat "spoon"-shape at the connection, as shown above in NoLimits 2. I think it would have looked great if you have put this shape for the diagonal rods in the game as well. Furthermore, I think the back bone, rail-tubes and the triangle crossties (so the non-diagonal rods) needs to be a bit thicker to make the track look a bit better.

Hopefully you can do something with these tips. The chance is probably very low that you will change this shape, but it would be great if you do so instead.

What I just have to say here: Very good made suggestion. [up]

You didn't just complain but said nice things first and then critiqued things in a positive, helping and respectful manner.[up] You also took time to make pictures to help explain what exactly you want so that the Devs don't have to use a "crystal ball" to understand what you are talking about.[up]

I also would support slight changes to the body of the front car of that coaster. The original design is much more fluent and nicer to the eye in my opinion. Something in the PC design disturbs me but I cannot exactly point out what it is. I really like the "manta-styled-mouth" of the original design. I guess I miss that in the PC design.[big grin]
