Maintenance, now I'm peeved.

So, there I was in a ring, mining for Osmium. Gathered a bunch of good stuff, including a whopping load of Painite. FINALLY find an asteroid with Osmium after 2 hours of searching, and start shooting off chunks.

Suddenly I'm disconnected. Apparently, there's a weekly maintenance happening. There was no warning, nothing to tell me this disconnection was about to occur.

This is BAD because now I'm stuck in the middle of an asteroid ring with a bunch of valuable cargo in the hold. When I log in, I'll immediately be swarmed by an armada of pirates, because the game ALWAYS drops pirates on you when you first enter a ring. It's for this reason I NEVER log off in the ring when I've got cargo in the hold.

A little warning message that the server would be getting shut down would have been nice, say at 30 minutes, then 15 minutes. Now I'm likely screwed.

They always conduct server maintenance at this time in Thursdays. However they did not send a message out this time like I've always seen them do prior to shutdown. I was thinking to myself about two minutes before I was kicked out "Huh, no message about servers today, that's weird" lol. Anyways, I wouldn't worry about the pirates, you should have no problem jumping out before they spawn.

I posted a bug report about the lack of the server broadcast message in-game just now.

Every other MMO I play has this. Starts at 15 minutes before, then at 10 min, 5, 3 and then every minute with last messages made every couple of seconds. The closer the shutdown, the more frequent (and annoying) messages. No one can say they didn't see it since it shows in the middle of the screen.

Good practice is a good practice. Saves a lot of frustrations.
