Majestic vs Farragut Capital Ship Battle

How many Commanders out there have witness Majestic and Farragut Capital Ships battle it out?
I just been to a High Intensity Combat Zone and Oh Man, it was a sight to behold!

It's good theatre watching capital class ships have a 'disagreement'.

I just wish I could buy one and take it home.

They make war zones a walk in the park. Go in, disable the Farragut, make it withdraw the the Interdictor will help mop up everything else. Then as the Feds come back in, in threes you and a dozen other ships pick them off in no time.

I have seen it also, in the one I was in, the Farragut lost, but only because I was inside its superstructure pummelling it from the heart out. Not that I am a filthy Imp by the way, but the Farragut was being used by an opposing faction in a turf war I was involved in and the Inquisitor seemed to be on our side despite up being Independent!

I've been witness of quite some duels between them. I've not seen one Occasion where the Majestic could hold his ground. The Farragut always Ends up disabling the Majestic's weapons and one Needs to manually destroy the heat sinks to make it retreat.

Though it can be FD have rebalanced them both in the meantime...

You are both spot on here, a Farragut is a cake walk to drive off in a vulture, majestic a little harder but not by much. Once done it gives an easy CZ to sit in for hours.

A low intensity CZ is harder to stay in than a HI once you've driven off the cap ship.

Bit harder to drive off when only 1 but still easy enough with the right tactics.

I would like FD to subtly place around 6 huge PA cannons with super aim, covering the blindspots such as that middle space in between the farraguts cockpit, just with the sole purpose of laying in wait for a ship that is trying to sneak up to their blindspots to burn out their heat relays etc. That way those capital ships can finally turn from a merely threatening artistic sight to holy popcorns, Batman.

You guys are right. The Majestic did lose that match. I watched from a distance and needed to leave the zone when everything turned hostile.

Its cool the first few times. Then you realise you can rout one in your SLF and it becomes just another part of the game with no depth...

How can the game ever be fun for you, if all you do is find out how to beat the game?

What is the point?
