I am not even sure this was in the 2.1 patch notes. The threshold for allied with the Federation, Alliance and Empire are now at 90%, up from previously 80%. This triples the amount of effort to get back to allied from reputation decay (for example after a while out of the bubble exploring) and gives you a much smaller buffer above the threshold to keep your allied status. It also negates FD's own statements that decay would happen only to "slightly below allied". If the 90% threshold is there to stay, why not increase the reputation decay end point to 85% accordingly?

Yes it is bad enough that doing missions for rep contributes so little, I spent ages trying to get back over 80% only to finally notice that the band starts at 90% now. You can't even "buy back" rep with donations as these are now in stupid-sized amounts.

It's true. I've been allied with Federation for a few days, and it only happened when I passed 90%.
I've found missions for factions allied to a superpower hardly move your rep anymore!! Good 30+ missions for a faction with the federation could hardly get my rep to move, was around 75-77%!! Did a session in a RES and got lots of federation bounty and it jumped up to 85%! Next day did same again went straight to 100%. Seems like if you want to up your Rep with a super power, bounty hunting in their systems is the way to go.
It should be navy missions and combat zone participation that really moves that. Same for advancing in navy rank. It being based on charitable donations is lame.
Have Major Factions now too a Cordial rank? Don't know, but that could shift numbers around without actually changing it otherwise.
Cordial was inserted between neutral and friendly. Your old reputation didn't change by that. I was friendly @75% with all three before 2.1 and stayed so when 2.1 went live. But it is possible something with the new rank messed up the calculation, maybe it is a bug?
