Meh!!

CATS. They are just sly and make you all their own pets and servants. Cats: They don't know how to fetch a ball, or sticks. All they want to do is lay about and get fat, while you humans pamper them, day in day out.

Why would the cat want to fetch your stuff? "Get your own stuff monkey-boy."

Gotta disagree with you. I have actually had 2 cats that fetched for me - as long as it was the crumpled pack from my brand of smokes. My wife and I thought it cute untill Jenny (our female that fetched) decided that she wanted to play whilst we were otherwise occupied. She managed to get my attention with her claws to an area best left to the imagination. She was declawed the next day (by a vet) but remained an avid fetch-kitty until she passed beyond the veil a few years ago.

But you are right in the assessment that one never truly owns a cat, they simply allow you to care for them.

I disagree. My Bengal plays fetch with rubber bands, he knows how to open the fridge (it's only cute the first 2 times), and he happily walks on a leash.

Personally, I do very often ball games with my cat. He prefers to return the ball to me without moving

Yup. The damn Bengal also actively hunts large dogs - hence why he is walked on a leash!

Somehow i always had cats followed me around even in the streets, some of it in my childhood, came with me to the bus stop every morning, when i went to shcool. You just need to know how to handle them. ;)
So much about this matter.

That much is true cats are more independent than dogs, and not so easy to teach them tricks. But you know what? I like it in this way.

Silliness aside; we have 4 cats at the moment and two dogs. The dogs are a Lab/German Shepard cross and a Yorkie. The bigger one is brilliant with all but one of the cats and she is a long haired black female; who is so aloof, she does not get on with anyone or anything. We have a small black and white female, who is friends with everyone and has a beautiful personality, a proper lap cat. We have a male bruiser who pops in when its cold, but mostly lives next door; due to the free food he gets there and we have a one eyed tortoiseshell male, who I believe he thinks he is a dog. He lost his eye at birth and had to be sort of separated from the litter and so spend a lot of time with the dogs in early life. Now he wanders around without a care in the world, he never eats with the other cats and only eats out of the dogs bowls, but again, has a brilliant personality and is always rubbing faces with both the dogs. The Yorkie is the biggest issue, as she just has to chase the cats at every opportunity and when she does, Arry has to join in and the one eyed cat, seem to run along with them as well, like he is caught up with the excitement.

They all have there own personalities and we love them for that.
